ARE YOU FEEDING THE WRONG KIND OF FAT?
The trend today is to go to a higher fat diet for our horses. The idea is a good
one, but you must consider which form of fat you are feeding.
There are many forms or types of fats but the 10%, 12%, or 14% fat in your feed is primarily processed Omega-6 fatty acid. You can't get around it, that is all they can put in feed. Corn oil is worse yet, 98% Omega-6. This causes the ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 to be out of balance with Omega-6 being 10 to 12 times the desirable levels.
The problem is this: Processed Omega-6 produces eicosanoids called prostaglandin series 2 and leukotriene B4. These elements are linked with a variety of pro-inflammatory, and immune suppressing disorders. They also interfer with insulin sensitivity [insulin is the most anabolic hormone in the system] and tissue repair. Omega-6 also competes for the same enzyme responsible for the metabolization of Omega-3 fatty acids [the "good" fats].
To compound the problem, these processed fats contain toxic substances such as trans fatty acids, peroxides, aldehydes, etc.

The feed companies came up with the idea of a higher fat diet. Great, but they have one foot on the boat and the other still on the dock. You must consider which type of fat is beneficial and differentiate between the many forms.
Solution....
Cut the processed fat to around 6% and feed an unprocessed, fresh, organic Omega-3 rich oil.
When these experts from the feed companies say, "Oh, that's not true", I say, "It's time to wake up. It's a fact. The research is there."
Thank you for your interest in my nutritional support products. My name is Mark Capparell. A note on my background. I have a BS Degree from the University of Delaware in Biology and Exercise Physiology. In 1991 I received a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Since certification, I began a conditioning practice and have been a personal trainer, strength coach, and consultant for athletes and non-athletes. I am affiliated through the NSCA with the top sport nutritionists and strength coaches in the country. This nutritional line for the performance horse is a result of my experience and background in training and sports nutrition.
EFA-3 is a result of research cited by experts in the field of fatty acid research and its effects on the athlete and performance horse. The essential fatty acid, alpha-linolenic acid (Omega-3), is the active ingredient in EFA-3. It is, in my opinion, the most reliable and beneficial nutritional compound on the market today. It is also the most researched nutraceutical by a thousand fold. Other products may appear effective in laboratory tests; however, they do not have the applications in horses that Omega-3 does.
The applications are widespread, ranging from broodmare applications with hormonal profiles and toxicity issues, to stallion applications with sperm counts and hormonal levels, to the development of a health optimal athlete starting with the foal or even the foal in utero.
Results are positive and consistent. My product will make a difference.
I look forward to discussing this product with you in person. You can contact me at (800) 213-8902 or e-mail at equineperformance@comcast.net.
Sincerely,
Mark Capparell, C.S.C.S.
